Appointment of Director

Rheochem Plc ("Rheochem" or the "Company") (AIM: RHEP) the oil and gas business with oil services, production, development and exploration assets is pleased to announce the appointment of James (Jamie) Brooke (aged 39) to the Board as a Non-executive Director, with immediate effect.

Mr Brooke is a qualified chartered accountant and has over 15 years investment experience in private equity and quoted fund management. He is currently a fund manager at Gartmore Investment Limited ("Gartmore"), a UK based independent fund manager with over GBP22bn under management as at 31 December 2009.

Jamie has joined the Board as a representative of Gartmore. Gartmore has a holding of 29,533,300 ordinary shares of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") and also is interested in a further 27,606,775 Ordinary Shares under contracts for differences. Gartmore therefore has a total beneficial interest over 57,140,075 Ordinary Shares in the Company, representing 22.89% of the total voting rights.
