July 1998 that as a result of the change in registration details the interest of
BBC Pension Trust Limited in the share capital of Oxford Instruments plc has
been re-registered effective from 24 April 1998 as follows:

1,608,100 ordinary shares of #0.05p each previously held in the name of Twenty
Nine Gracechurch Street Nominees Limited A/C 8806B are now registered in the
name of MSTC Nominees Limited A/C CRT00742.

There has been no change in beneficial ownership.
