Significant shareholding increase

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (the Company) (AIM: KDC)

Gem Diamonds Australia Pty Ltd (Gem Diamonds) has increased its substantial
holding in the Company's issued capital to 46.84% (200,955,824 ordinary fully
paid shares) and, in accordance with the provisions of the s671B of the
Corporations Act 2001, has lodged the appropriate Form 604 with ASX and ASIC.
This holding excludes further shares which are subject to the Acceptance
Facility established by Gem
