Hotel Update / Donation to Charity

Japan Leisure Hotels is today providing a further update on its operations following the events in Japan at the end of last week and the closure of its hotel in Sendai, the only hotel in its portfolio to have suffered any damage from the earthquake and tsunami.

The Sendai hotel remains closed for regular business, with no gas supplies currently available, although electricity and water have been restored. A skeleton staff continues to work at the hotel providing shelter to foreign press to enable reporting of the on-going situation. We are also seeking to work through the local authorities to provide shelter for some of the worst affected victims. All staff have now been accounted for.

The hotel at Yamagata has resumed limited operations. The Company's other four hotels are operating normally.

Japan Leisure Hotels further announces that the Board has approved an initiative to donate 10% of revenues from its hotels for the next two weeks up to a target of JPY2,500,000(equivalent to approximately GBP19,250) to the Japan Red Cross that is providing relief to people who have been affected by the disaster.
