    Statement re: Suspension

    Inveresk Plc ("Inveresk" or the "Company") has today requested a suspension of its shares pending an announcement that it has obtained
additional funding and also pending publication of its annual audited accounts for the year ended 31 December 2007.

    Inveresk is reviewing a number of strategic options to secure additional financing which include an issue of equity, the raising of a
loan or the sale of assets. Accordingly, the Company is confident that it will be able to raise the additional finance that it requires and
expects to be in a position to update shareholders in the near future.

    Inveresk is also in the final stages of preparing its annual audited results, although the Company's auditors are not expected to be
able to sign off on the basis of "Going Concern" until the fundraising is completed.
