                The Big Food Group plc ("BFG" or the "Company")

In view of recent press speculation following the announcement on 17 September
in which BFG stated that it had agreed to allow Baugur to conduct due diligence
on the Company based on its proposal to make an offer for BFG of 110p per share,
the Board confirms at the request of the Panel that if an offer at this price
were to be made today, it would, subject to, inter alia, other terms and
conditions, recommend it to shareholders.
