Western Union and The Pantry to Offer Western Union® goCASH Service

The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU), a leader in global payments, and The Pantry, Inc., the leading independently-operated convenience store chain in the southeastern U.S., announced today an agreement to offer the Western Union® goCASHSM service, an in-lane money-transfer service from Western Union.

The Western Union® goCASHSM service will enable consumers to pay for a domestic or global money transfer while shopping at more than 1,650 Kangaroo Express stores across 13 states. The Pantry agreement builds upon Western Union’s go-to-market strategy and complements Western Union's consumer experience.

Western Union sees the goCASH service as an opportunity to strengthen its relationship and value proposition with consumers seeking convenient services, and mass market retailers preferring to efficiently manage services at the check-out counter,” said Victoria López-Negrete, Senior Vice President and GM North America, Western Union.

With the goCASHSM service, consumers will have the option to select any of three principal amounts ranging from $50; $100; and $200, and the goCASHSM package can be purchased for both domestic and international money transfers. Once purchased, the sender will need to complete the transaction online or over the phone through a Western Union customer service representative and provide the money-transfer information to the receiver.

The Western Union® goCASHSM service will be available this fall at Kangaroo Express stores. The Pantry stores offer a broad selection of hot and cold beverages, snacks, fresh foods and gasoline as part of a wide assortment of merchandise and services that support consumer on-the-go lifestyles. The Pantry’s Kangaroo Express stores are located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia.
