Emerson Electric (NYSE:EMR) reported quarterly earnings of $0.80 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $0.60 by 33.33 percent. This is a 14.89 percent decrease over earnings of $0.94 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $3.90 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $3.85 billion by 1.30 percent. This is a 16.74 percent decrease over sales of $4.68 billion the same period last year.

The board of directors of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) today declared the regular quarterly cash dividend of fifty cents ($0.50) per share of common stock payable March 10, 2020 to stockholders of record February 14, 2020.

ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Emerson Electric Co. (EMR) on Tuesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $465 million.
On a per-share basis, the St. Louis-based company said it had profit of 74 cents.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 66 cents per share.
The maker of process controls systems, valves and analytical instruments posted revenue of $4.15 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.23 billion.
Emerson Electric expects full-year earnings to be $3.60 to $3.75 per share.

On a per-share basis, the St. Louis-based company said it had net income of 61 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, were 58 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 54 cents per share.
The maker of process controls systems, valves and analytical instruments posted revenue of $3.82 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.72 billion.
Emerson Electric expects full-year earnings to be $3.05 to $3.15 per share.
Emerson Electric shares have decreased roughly 2 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has declined almost 1 percent. The stock has risen 15 percent in the last 12 months.

Feb 7 (Reuters) - Emerson Electric Co reported a 20.5 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by higher sales in its commercial and residential solutions business, which makes ignition systems for furnaces and air conditioning compressors.
The company's earnings from continuing operations rose to $370 million, or 56 cents per share, in the first quarter ended Dec. 31 from $307 million, or 46 cents per share, a year earlier. (http://bit.ly/2khitXI)

yep all of emr's segements seem to be picking up steam right now which speaks well for the overall economy. EMR's positive projections is why i don't think the overall market will tank anytime soon. it seems to be strong right now. Emerson Closes Aperture Acquisition

Emerson Electric Closes Buyout of Software Maker Aperture, Terms Not Disclosed

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Electrical products maker Emerson Electric Co. has completed its acquisition of Aperture, a data center software provider, privately held Aperture said Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Aperture will now operate as an autonomous business division of Emerson Network Power, and will continue to be led by Bill Clifford.

Emerson's shares rose 79 cents to $51.53 in afternoon trading.
