Spain's Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BBV, BBVA.MC) on Monday placed a $1 billion, floating-rate, 18-month bond, reports Expansion in its Tuesday Internet edition, citing unidentified financial sources.

Along with BBVA, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley sold the bonds to institutional investors in the U.S., the paper adds.

This was BBVA's first dollar-denominated bond issue since July 2007, says Expansion.
