On behalf of over 700 contributors, customers and employees, AmSouth Bank has collected $100,000 for the National Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. AmSouth has been collecting donations at all branches since Wednesday, August 31. "For all of the people affected in these areas, every dollar counts. We want to thank each person who has contributed," said Suzanne Mestayer, AmSouth city president in New Orleans. "We are pleased that AmSouth could help make it easier for people to contribute to this relief effort." AmSouth also established an Employee Relief Fund, which benefits those AmSouth employees affected by Hurricane Katrina. AmSouth and its employees have already helped over 50 employees with funds from this account.
