Amprius Launches High-Performance SiCore Battery for Electric Mobility

In an interview with Power Electronics News, Ionel Stefan, CTO of Amprius, highlighted various aspects of Amprius’ SiCore battery technology. He noted that the cycle life at high rates is only slightly lower than at lower rates. This difference is primarily due to the increased cell body temperature at high rates. Active cooling can further mitigate these differences.

The slow pace of battery development is largely due to chemistry. Traditional lithium-ion batteries use graphite for the anode, but graphite has hit its energy storage limit. Silicon is emerging as a better alternative because it can hold up to ten times more lithium than graphite, allowing batteries to store much more energy. However, when silicon absorbs lithium, it expands significantly, which can cause it to crack and fail. Despite this challenge, silicon is the best option for increasing energy density in batteries, and using more of it could lead to more powerful and efficient lithium-ion batteries.

Teledyne FLIR, which supplies unmanned systems for defense and public safety, is among the first to explore the new cell’s potential. Tung Ng, Vice President of Unmanned Systems North America at Teledyne FLIR, said the battery could significantly improve the performance of drones and other aerial systems. “This technology has the potential to extend mission durations and maintain critical performance under demanding conditions,” he noted.

That would definitely look good for good news on that end.

It looks like what's going on with Amprius for last couple of weeks is just accumulating. At first I was going say they are just flipping this stock and that's why it is going sideways, but I don't think this is the case.

I could be wrong but I doubt I am. And I think we would be surprised who we don't know about that has also invested in Amprius. I look for actions of what companies are doing rather than words. I invested in TNXP at one point but then sold all my shares because this battery technology stuff has peaked my interest and not TNXP. TNXP may go places down the road -- it may -- but I don't want to lose site why I invested in Amprius. I see a future with Amprius.

Well, there's a reason that Charles Schwab bought more shares and some are giving a higher price target at $10 or $11. Just my thought.

Yes it is. I suspect if we keep the momentum going we will see at least $10 within the next month or two. I have my sell order in at $10 but I'm cautious about that because it could either go higher or a little lower. You never know.

Someone wrote that for some time now, the bulk of the market has been quietly 'sliding' lower.

Covered up by the FEW big names with enough market cap to make the market look good.

The commenter said the last two times the market setup looked like this was in 2000 (when all hell broke loose
and the market tanked: I remember tech names valued at $400/sh that were nothing but an empty office and a sign
on the door, before that crash occurred. He said the other time was in early 2020 when things fell apart for approx
1 month before going on a serious rebound..

Disclaimer: hold positions in 3 that are just getting started, one being TNXP. And sitting on cash in case an 'opportunity'
arises. And I do expect the market to crash right after TRUMP takes over so that they can blame him for it despite some
saying we already in a recession. But just ignoring/hiding it.

A lot of stocks have been moving down or are stagnant. Tesla seems to be the only thing reliably moving upwards. Though considering its high entry compared to pennies or growth symbols, it's not on my buy list.

I'm still holding AMPX, because I think it'll reach double digits by 2027. If I close my position, will probably forget to monitor the sp long term. Then one day wakeup to see it at 10, years from now haha.
