Dont need a vehicle from the 80's, 90's and 00's work. 15-20 years ago is between 2002-2007. Less computer dependent the better. The point of failure is the ECUs or sensors communicating with the computer. Better off with a direct cable connected from the accelerator to the engine. Its more expensive to run than using a simple sensor.

Recreating The “Stuck Throttle” Problem On A Toyota

While most passenger vehicles older than about 15-20 years controlled the throttle with a cable connected directly from the throttle body to the accelerator pedal, most manufacturers have switched to a fly-by-wire system which takes sensor input from the accelerator pedal and sends that position information to the vehicle’s computer which in turn adjusts the throttle position. This might be slightly cheaper to manufacture, but introduces a much larger number of failure modes to a critical system.

[Colin] is recreating one of those failure modes by introducing an electromagnetic pulse at a specific point on the vehicle’s computer. In the real world, this could be caused by certain forms of EMF potentially including cosmic rays. This introduces a memory fault which the computer doesn’t seem capable of recognizing or clearing. With the right set of circumstances that [Colin] can reliably produce, the computer eventually will drive the throttle fully open, and the condition can only be corrected by power-cycling the vehicle’s computer.

Researcher Discovers Tesla Design Flaw That May Cause Unintended Acceleration; NHTSA Reopens Investigation
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reopened its investigation into a potential design flaw in Tesla vehicles, which may lead to sudden unintended acceleration. This comes after allegations were made that a voltage spike deep within the control systems could cause the vehicle to incorrectly read an accelerator input, even when none has occurred.

When Voltage Spikes Trigger Unintended Acceleration
Under certain circumstances, such as slow driving, when the power steering requires more power, the draw on the 12-volt battery can cause a significant spike in the system. This voltage surge could lead the inverter to incorrectly conclude that the accelerator pedal has been pressed, resulting in unintended acceleration.

This unexpected acceleration could theoretically happen when a voltage spike, lasting only microseconds, occurs simultaneously as the car performs an ADC check, also lasting microseconds. Belt suggests that the frequency of these events aligns with the 200 or so incidents reported between 2013 and 2019.

Adding complexity to this issue, Belt contends that due to the nature of the fault, it does not get logged as an error. The inverter’s misinterpretation of a voltage spike as a throttle input leaves no trace, leading to discrepancies between Tesla's vehicle data and owners' accounts, possibly explaining why the ODI initially denied the petition.

While Belt's allegations primarily focus on the Model 3, which features a unique inverter design, he notes that similar errors could occur in Model S and Model X vehicles. This opens up the potential for a broader scope in the ongoing investigation.

NHTSA Petition Claims Tesla Sudden Unintended Acceleration Is Real

What's worse is that the incorrectly increased sensor signals will be sent via the CAN bus to the vehicle logs, causing Tesla and NHTSA to conclude that the driver caused the sudden increase in torque by stepping on the accelerator pedal. But in this case, the sudden acceleration was caused not by the driver stepping on the accelerator pedal but by a random superposition of a negative-going voltage spike (which is about 100 microseconds long), and the sampling time of the analog-to-digital converter (which is about 10 microseconds long). This random superposition explains the low occurrence rate of sudden acceleration in Tesla vehicles
SUA has impacted every main Tesla car model S/X, 3/Y, & even the Cybertruck. Im not aware of an incident involving a Semi...yet...although the one that drove into the trees with an engine fire may have experienced SUA.
As this issue has impacted just about every Tesla model and year, i doubt Dr Belt's theory in relation to the the origin of the fault, is exactly correct and certainly not easy to fix as its still a problem. Thus i expect the NHTSA will deny this petition at some point despite this issue continuing to plague Teslas. I believe the problem of SUA is EM interference induced which impacts other EVs as well per a study in China. EMI can cause these voltage spikes to compensate from a drop in voltage as described in the following quote. E3 usually pertains to EM blast from a nuclear explosion but during geostorms/unrest this same sort of voltage depression can be observed in electrical systems.

E3 can also affect subtransmission and distribution systems by causing harmonic distortion and voltage depression. The voltage regulators at the substation will attempt to correct for low voltage levels on distribution circuits. This attempt can result in overvoltages when the E3 stimulus decays to a low value

Part 2 - Proof Electromagnetic radiation is causing EVs to go out of control and spontaneously combust.
4). Among the data records during the accidents according to the background data of the crashed vehicles or the data of on-vehicle terminals, the position values of most accelerator pedals were very high(99%) while the values of brake pedals were 0% or only non-zero in very limited moments (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2).
Continued very high accelerator pressure with no braking is how you differentiate SUA from pedal misapplication.

Section 3 - The computer errors from outer space
(Elon Musk: Model S not a car but a ‘sophisticated computer on wheels’)

When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. But ionising radiation, including rays of protons blasted towards us by the sun, can also be the cause. These incidents, called single-event upsets, are rare and it can be impossible to be sure that cosmic rays were involved in a specific malfunction because they leave no trace behind them.

And yet they have been singled out as the possible culprits behind numerous extraordinary cases of computer failure. From a vote-counting machine that added thousands of non-existent votes to a candidate's tally, to a commercial airliner that suddenly dropped hundreds of feet mid-flight, injuring dozens of passengers
Plus, since giant ejections from the sun can sometimes send huge waves of particles towards Earth, what's called space weather, an unnerving prospect looms: we could see much more disruption to computers than we're used to during a massive geomagnetic storm in the future

Section 4 - Superseding and/or Intervening Force

Tesla argues it had no control in the crash and death which were "caused by a superseding and/or intervening force."
There you have it folks Tesla admits an outside force caused this Tesla to glitch and go out of control. That is true, its not Teslas fault, per se, that its vehicles go out of control. Its the destabilized electromagnetic environment we are experiencing as a result of the earths continued weakening of its magnetic field. While I do not disagree that this is an outside force causing its vehicles to go out of control, its precisely why computers on wheels (Teslas/EVs/computerized ICE) should not be on the roads. Because these vehicles will continue to go out of control and with more frequency putting the greater public in danger. EVs will continue to destroy lives whether through killing those involved, created long-term psychological damage, or leading to the incarceration of people who did nothing wrong other than drive an EV.
Also as Tesla is aware of the problem and does not warn the public its liable for everyone of its vehicles going out of control!

Section 9 - Hutchison Effect & Teslas Whompy Wheel issue

Jain is one of tens of thousands of Tesla owners who have experienced premature failures of suspension or steering parts, according to a Reuters review of thousands of Tesla documents. The chronic failures, many in relatively new vehicles, date back at least seven years and stretch across Tesla’s model lineup and across the globe, from China to the United States to Europe, according to the records and interviews with more than 20 customers and nine former Tesla managers or service technicians.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/

The exact cause of the Hutchison Effect is unknown in public spheres as it is classified under national security. However the most likely culprit seems to be a combination of electromagnetic sources coming together in a way to change the makeup of metals leading to their rusting, softening, fracturing, complete breaking, even dustification. Keep in mind the degree of metal materials that are within our buildings and infrastructure...even in concrete. Maybe this is why we are seeing an increase in building and bridge collapses?

This pretty much sums up for you that this particular automobile is not for you.
You are fortunate that there are so many choices.
It would be my advice to choose something prior to the 80’s that would lessen any of the long winded fears that you seem to have with automobiles made in the past 40 years.
There are even some hand crank used cars that have no electric motor to start it and best of all no battery. Some have candle headlights and some have magneto powered headlights.
Not sure if the magneto ones could be effected by the current problems so the candle ones would probably be a better choice.
Your family will thank you for making them feel safe.
At the same time I would not advise getting on any airplane because of their fly by wire controls.
There might be someone that still has a DC8 for flight transportation.

That executive didnt actually address the issue and instead uses disinformation techniques you'd expect to find in a fake it until it makes it scam.

Calling the study clickbait is technically true, anything that generates headlines is "clickbait". However by calling it that hes hoping people will dismiss the study as being anything else but sensational with little basis in reality. Clever method of ad hominem, attacking the messenger instead of the accuracy of the study.

He chalked up the math as being incorrect yet that would make the math for every automaker incorrect as well. For instance Moravy says their denominator is incorrect. Change the denominator doesnt change Teslas rank as the brand more people die in accidents in/around. Changing the denominator would only work to increase or decrease the amount of deaths per mile driven. As i already said, that doesnt change Teslas position because you'd need to use the same denominator for every brand. Whether thats millions, billions, trillions, quadrillions, etc of miles driven.

Ahh yes Moravy references how Teslas have regularly been called out as the safest cars on the road as if that matters when considering deaths per mile driven. All that means is there would be more deaths if Tesla didnt have the safety features they do. Regardless of how safe the cars are, more people die in Teslas than any other brand despite those accolades.

All in all Moravy is hoping his audience lacks critical thinking skills which all con artists depend on.

Tesla executive responds to claims of high fatal accident rate,

In a post on X on Friday responding to the story, Moravy called iSeeCars “clickbait,” adding that it is not an actual U.S. safety regulator. He chalked it up to the math being incorrect, saying that the publication may have a “bad denominator in the per mile calculations” of fatal accidents, especially with the amount of miles Tesla’s vehicles have actually been driven.

The executive also highlighted the fact that Tesla’s vehicles have regularly been called out as some of the safest cars on the road, with Model Y units having driven over 7 billion total miles in the U.S., and the Model 3 around 19 billion.

Thats a foolish and troll like comment.

Tesla Has the Highest Fatal Accident Rate of All Auto Brands - Who could have predicted this?
Tesla vehicles suffer fatal accidents at a rate that's twice the industry average, according to a new report.

Tesla's vehicles have the highest fatal accident rate among all car brands in America, according to a recent iSeeCars study that analyzed data from the U.S. Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS).

The study was conducted on model year 2018–2022 vehicles, and focused on crashes between 2017 and 2022 that resulted in occupant fatalities. Tesla vehicles have a fatal crash rate of 5.6 per billion miles driven, according to the study; Kia is second with a rate of 5.5, and Buick rounds out the top three with a 4.8 rate. The average fatal crash rate for all cars in the United States is 2.8 per billion vehicle miles driven.
The Tesla Model S has a rate more than double than average, at 5.8 per billion vehicle miles driven; meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y — the best-selling vehicle in the world has a fatal crash rate of 10.6, nearly four times the average. It ranked as the sixth worst vehicle overall. (The Hyundai Venue took the top spot overall, with a fatal crash rate of 13.9.)
So...in addition to having the highest accident rate, despite many accolades of the safest vehicle to get into an accident in, Tesla brand has the highest death rate of any brand in America. Its like there is something inherently wrong with Teslas and particularly EVs. The reason why Tesla has so many more fatalities than any other EV maker is because there are soooo many more of them on the roads at any given moment for them to be exposed to EM radiation leading to glitching. The more EVs on the roads the greater the probability of them suffering EM interference and going out of control leading to the highest accident and death rate for Tesla. EVs need to be banned and I suspect the elimination of the tax credit is a step toward that end.

Tesla Drivers Have the Highest Crash Rate of Any Brand: Study
Tesla led all automakers with 23.54 crashes per 1,000 drivers in the past year.

Thats irrelevant as SUA occurs because of vehicles being exposed to EM radiation. Seems to be a bigger problem in EVs but as Colin showed can occur in more Modern ICE vehicles.

This represented more than 200 million accumulated flights at the end of 2021 by a fleet of more than 14,500 aircraft in service, which is a strong statistical basis. Fly-by-wire has significantly improved aircraft safety and operations efficiency.

Look, buddy, nobody likes car accidents, especially those involving fatalities. However, claiming all Tesla deaths are due to Autopilot issues is a bit like saying all swimming pool drownings are caused by defective pool noodles.
I never claimed all Tesla deaths were due to Autopilot. Even the source material of the 614 deaths doesnt indicate those were all AP related. No it says 51 confirmed fatalities involving Tesla ADA systems: 49 of those using AP with 2 of those being from FSD. However the remainder deaths, most of those were caused by out of control Teslas. Still most is not all. Most, or majority if you prefer, just means over 50% of the remainder were caused by Teslas going out of control and say veering into a Tree for example. Trees, buildings, oncoming traffic, parked cars, Teslas run the gambit on what they will veer into when the operator looses control of the steering because it locked up for "some" reason.

Tesla Deaths Total: 614 | Tesla Autopilot Deaths Count: 51, including 2 fatalities involving the use of FSD

========================================

The following collection of accidents will show that Teslas have a sudden veering problem, a problem thats being covered up, in addition to issues of Sudden Unintended Acceleration. These accidents occur regardless of the Teslas being operated by intoxicated drivers, regular drivers, professional drivers, Autopilot, or FSD.
This collection was put together to showcase the core problem is actually hardware related not driver/software. When nearly the same crash elements occurs across a diverse collection of use cases regardless of model & year, the only logical conclusion is that there is something wrong with the vehicles themselves and that they pose a significant danger to society. As I already hinted at, there is a newish investigation that indicates that Tesla & NHTSA are purposefully withholding information in regards various AP related accidents including these veering Teslas that works to hide such dangers from becoming more apparent...so people do not catch onto this pattern! I post to the article at the end of this section of the post.

Both FSD cases, 1 professional driver case, 4 regular driver cases, & 1 intoxicated driver case, the Teslas slammed into a tree resulting in the death of at least 1 person. 1 autopilot case the Tesla veered off the road and rolled into a tree. 2 Autopilot cases suddenly veered into the median. 2 regular driver incidents involved locked steering. It appears as though the Semi suffered some sort of electrical issue causing an engine to catch fire and it veer off the interstate into trees. The Cybertruck incident also involved locked steering but included sudden unintended acceleration.

1. The "Funny Numbers Game":

Look, buddy, nobody likes car accidents, especially those involving fatalities. However, claiming all Tesla deaths are due to Autopilot issues is a bit like saying all swimming pool drownings are caused by defective pool noodles. There are plenty of human errors, drunk driving, and bad decisions that contribute to accidents across all car brands.

2. The Conspiracy Corner:

Hold on, are you suggesting Tesla's AI is secretly building a robot army controlled by Elon Musk via SpaceX satellites for a full-blown Skynet takeover? While that makes for a great movie plot, the reality is likely less dramatic. TeslaDeaths.com is a resource, but it doesn't prove a grand conspiracy, just that accidents involving Teslas happen.

3. Cosmic Ray Blues:

Space rays messing with car computers? It's a possibility, a tiny one, but a possibility nonetheless. However, it's far more likely a rogue squirrel or a driver texting will cause an issue. Besides, engineers are constantly working on shielding electronics from such cosmic annoyances.

4. The Superseding Force Defense:

Okay, here's the thing. Tesla might argue some crashes have external factors, but that doesn't absolve them of all responsibility. It's still their car, their technology. Saying it's all the Earth's weakening magnetic field causing electromagnetic havoc that throws Teslas into a tizzy is a bit of a stretch.

5. The Dubious Death Rate:

Fatal accident rate studies can be tricky, and without solid context, that "highest death rate" claim becomes dubious. What are the factors considered? Total number of vehicles on the road? Miles driven? Without proper comparisons, it's hard to say for sure.

6. The Parking Lot Panic:

Yikes, runaway Teslas in parking garages are scary, no doubt. But let's not jump to conclusions. Was it a software glitch? A mechanical failure? Driver error? Jumping to "never get in a Tesla" based on one anecdote is a tad extreme.

7. The Out of Control Archive:

A list of out-of-control Teslas sounds bad, but without context, it's meaningless. How many Teslas are on the road worldwide? What percentage is on that list? Perspective is key.

8. EMI and the Blaming Black Box:

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) can cause issues in electronics, but it's not unique to Teslas. Proper shielding and design practices help mitigate these risks. As for the black box blaming the driver, well, that needs to be investigated. However, blaming EMI for every sudden acceleration might be a bit of a stretch.

9. The Hutchison Effect and the Whompy Wheel Woes:

Premature suspension and steering part failures are a concern in any car, not just Teslas. Kudos to Reuters for investigating this, and hopefully, Tesla addresses any underlying issues. However, linking it to a classified national security effect about changing metal composition seems a bit...out there.

Look, Tesla has its problems, from software glitches to potential hardware issues. But attributing everything to a grand conspiracy or blaming space rays ignores the complexity of car accidents. Let's focus on safety improvements, responsible driving, and keeping our roads safe for everyone, human pilots and Teslas alike.

Thats some serious BS because if that number is actually based on something its based on the car doing something the driver could have done themselves.

Meanwhile this is legit and most of its caused by the Tesla going out of control which is why Teslas have the highest deathrate of all brands.

EVs pollute more and cost more due to excessive tire wear. Consider having to replace your tires 1-2 times a year instead once every 5 years or so.

Electric vehicles release more toxic emissions, are worse for the environment than gas-powered cars: study

Electric vehicles release more toxic particles into the atmosphere and are worse for the environment than their gas-powered counterparts, according to a resurfaced study.

The study, published by emissions data firm Emission Analytics, was released in 2022 but has attracted a wave of attention this week after being cited in a Wall Street Journal op-ed Sunday.

It found that brakes and tires on EVs release 1,850 times more particle pollution compared to modern tailpipes, which have “efficient” exhaust filters, bringing gas-powered vehicles’ emissions to new lows.

Today, most vehicle-related pollution comes from tire wear.
Electric vehicles are often heavier than regular gas-powered cars due to the weight of their engines, which can reach 1,850 pounds. The heavier engines place extra weight on the tires and cause them to wear out faster, according to the study. A 1,100-pound engine can cause more than 400 times the emissions as direct exhaust emissions.

Particle pollution from tires is the biggest contributor to vehicle-related emissions.
I have a hard time believing its simply weight that causes EVs to go through tires at, sometimes, an excessive pace. They are not that much heavier to cause the vehicles to go through tires in as little as 5k miles. My guess is it has something to do with the EM radiation that comes off EVs coupled with the metals in the tires.

“But you have this downside of EVs that increases particle pollution. Air pollution is about what we breathe and the health effects,” Molden said, assuring that the toxins in tires have much less impact on climate change than they do on “what we eat and are ingesting.”

Increased exposure to these toxins “can increase the risk of health problems like heart disease, asthma, and low birth weight,” according to the New York Department of Health, which noted that pollution from sources including vehicle exhaust can travel long distances from its source and still cause health issues at unhealthy levels.

“A lot of it [chemicals] goes into the soil and water, affecting animals and fish. And we then go and eat the animals and fish, so we are ingesting tire pollution,” Molden added.
New tires every 7,000 miles? Electric cars save gas but tire wear shocks some Florida drivers

But after less than 5,000 miles of driving around his Boca Raton neighborhood, Semel was shocked to find some essential — and very expensive — parts were already wearing out. The tires. “If somebody looked at me and said, Mr. Semel, you are going to love this car but in about 7,000 miles you will have to pay 1,400 or 1,500 dollars to replace the tires, I wouldn’t have bought the car,” Semel said. For many drivers of EVs in Florida — the nation’s second largest market for electrical vehicles — premature tire wear has become an unexpected black mark on vehicles promoted as a green climate-friendly option to gas-gulping cars.
At EV Garage Miami, a Sweetwater repair shop that services 90 percent electric vehicles, lead technician Jonathan Sanchez said tires are the most frequent thing customers come in about — no matter what model or make of EV they’re driving. Tire mileage can vary widely of course, but he said he frequently changes EV tires at just 8,000 to 10,000 miles — a fourth or even fifth of typical tire wear on a gas-burning car.
Not even better for the environment. The level of the con game associated with Tesla is crazy.

In  recent  years,  there  have  been  numerous  out-of-control  accidents  of  electric  vehicles.
Occasional fault of electronic control unit caused by  electromagnetic interference
External  electromagnetic  interference  refers  to  that  caused  by electromagnetic  radiation  of  various  electrical  facilities  including  the  high  voltage  transmission  line, broadcasting  TV  devices  and  radio  communication  equipment  as  well  as  natural  phenomena  such  as lightning.

Electromagnetic  wave  interferes  the  electric  control  system  of  automobile  through  wiring  harness and  car  body to  make  it  hard  to  perform  or  even  send  wrong  instructions leading  to  wrong  actions  of various  actuators,  affecting  the  safety,  reliability  and  stability  of  automobile  driving.  The electromagnetic  interference  affects  the  automobile  electronic  control  system  mainly  in  two  ways:  one is  to  affect  the  input  signal  of  the  sensor  of  the  electronic  control  system,  causing  distortion  and resulting  in  electric  control  signal  where  the  ECU  output  does  not  match  the  driver's  intention,  which leads  to  the  wrong  operation  of  the  actuator;  the  other  is  to  interfere  the  ECU  output  signal  to  result  in its deviation,  misleading the operation of  the actuator.

The most common cause of Natural EMI includes:

Lightning

Solar Magnetic Storms

Earth’s Magnetic Field Flux

Cosmic Radiation

Section 7 - Hutchison Effect & Teslas Whompy Wheel issue

The fact that the same sort of accidents occur, whether the driver is intoxicated,

Why are we imprisoning innocent drunk drivers when the root cause is EM radiation, solar storms, and geomagnetic unrest? It is now also being claimed by the media that this is the cause, which is something I have been saying for years.

Drinking and driving kills 37 people a day in the U.S. — about one person every 39 minutes — according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). That is more than 11,000 lives lost each year to drunk driving.

The Earth needs to be shielded to prevent EM radiation from killing people on Earth. Also, the polar shifts are reversing, meaning people in Jamaica will experience arctic climates and people in Canada will have tropical weather. Also, human beings who identify as straight will be now gay, and those gay will be straight. Trans people will continue to be normal.

Please read more on my prophecies on Tesla, polar shift, and the weakening magnetic field on previous posts. More on this later.

The fact that the same sort of accidents occur whether the driver is intoxicated, sober, a professional driver, or the Tesla is using Autopilot/FSD tells you there is something wrong with the vehicles. Just look at all the use cases where very similar events occur without any other vehicles being involved. Im not the only one to claim EM radiation is causing Tesla to go out of control.

Here is an example of it being claimed in the media that electromagnetic interference is causing Teslas to drive on their own without driver input. Case study of where this has been observed in other EVs posted below. Video of the Tesla driving itself is here:

For an expert opinion, KXAN took the case to Dragan Djurdjanovic. A professor in mechanical engineering, Djurdjanovic looked into similar allegations against Tesla around 2008. The expert said it's very possible that electromagnetic interference between wires caused the accident.
Its EMI but not from inside the car. Instead its coming from outside the car which is why Teslas only go out of control like this during geomagnetic unrest. Also in 2008 it was Toyotas that were having problems with SUA.

Not only can low-frequency magnetic fields pose health hazards to human beings, but they can also affect some electric control units (ECUs) in a vehicle. An ECU that consists of Hall-effect sensors located near the battery pack or powertrain modules could be affected by the low-frequency magnetic field if no sufficient shielding is provided.
