Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (CY) 시세

Glad I did not sell. Market makes a run post Corona and I think 28 is very likely.

With this new usb we could be back up to 28.00

Today's price hike certainly improved the outlook. My sell limit order I had in was blown past to the upside this AM. Nice to have the extra turned over at the Open. I let 10% of the shares go this AM.

Think we got a winner here.

Big day for CY, up over 12% on the day with big volume.

Cypress continues to offer reasonable fundamentals even as the price/share heads to $16.50. I've worked the share price range with reasonable effectiveness since starting this holding in Sept of 2017.

Three buys and three sells to make small adjustments to the holding have helped the investment.

While overall I'm slightly trailing Buy/Hold, my risk adjusted return is quite good. The current price/share is now within 1% of where I'll start to rebuild the cash reserve again. Trading around the core position has allowed me to stay with the stock, collect dividends and build the total value over time.

Drifting ever so slightly higher recently. +3% today. It's been rising nicely since the latest div payment.

Lovin the Institutional ownership

Hi B, I was able to buy a few shares extra during the 2018 late year melt-down to add to the position. Here's the history:


I own a few more shares now than when I started and the cash is a little better, too. I'll start to recover some cash once it's risen about another 10% from here. With the yield over 2.8% I'm not in a hurry to sell shares.

Feeling good here. Hoping for a dip to buy more for the long haul.

CY broke the $15 barrier this AM. It was showing up about 8% at the time.

CY has had trouble differentiating itself as an investment from other tech
and chip stocks. It's moved it seems on the same tectonic plate. Even so,
it's Price/Book Value is better than many, has a quite handsome yield and
is at least earning a small amount of cash.

Concern might be that they aren't earning the dividend right now so it
might be in jeopardy.

My take on CY and NRZ

Correction...........

My cash is 36% higher than when I started this holding about a year ago.

Watching but staying out.
Maybe 2020+ sees 5G IOT drive now chip sales . . .
along with more Drive-less vehicle tech intro?

Which ever way Nov 7 results drive trends and EOY Tax Sells goes, will
give us the new spending priorities for chips stocks.

Since I last posted here CY has cycled to a new 52 Week Low of under $12/share. I've purchased twice more since that post adding over 20% to my position. Prices were $14 and just this last week under $12/share.

Value Line shows "Timeliness" to be average (#3) right now and they give CY a 3-5 year price target range of $25 to $40 per share. While my cash reserve isn't as deep as I would like with the recent buying, I still can add more shares if the swoon is to continue. It will take a further 10% discount from my last buy to get the cash register to open, however.



The Price/Share is currently down 2.8% since I started my CY holding. With some opportunistic trading the portfolio (exclusive of dividends) is now up 3%. I own 2.4% more shares now than my start but the cash reserve is currently down 38% from the start. So, let's hope Value Line's prognostications are correct.

This morning the markets were a bit more generous and filled my Sell trade for 10% of my position.



Now at 30% cash overall which give some comfort in case the markets get acting oddly.

CY is now within pennies of my next sell trigger price. I trade around a core position and this next sell point would release 10% of my remaining position.

It's been a holding less than a year and is currently showing a share price gain of ~35%.

CY has now broken out above $17

No interest here for a while I see, there will be, as soon as the Smart Home Battle gets more press. Cuban Bezos and Musk are discussing this AI market, and they grew up watching Star Trek. Buck Rogers folks saw manned flight to the Moon. CY pays a small divy, that'll change too, maybe they'll catch up to QCOM like AMD is trying to do with NVDA.

The sp is already rising. Buying back $ 450 mil. shares will take around 44 million shares off the market. This will cause the sp to rise even more.

The company will be buying back 450m $ worth of stock. This should boost the sp.

That makes me sick. The reason being that CY bought the SRAM technology when the acquired Simtek Corp (for a song) which I was invested in for years (in and out plays). I looked and the Raging Bull forum for Simtek is gone now.

I had some, still do at low 9s but last week rebought some at $10.01 and I think it may make a quick 15-23% Im not complaining and while we wait we get 4.5% a year, but I doubt I will be there that long GL

I had an order in to buy at 9.35 but my order didn't get filled. I had a feeling it was going to make a nice little pop from the 30's! Missed it!
