Spescom Awarded Contract Worth Over $1 Million by Leading East
Coast Utility Strong Demand for Company's eB Nuclear Software Suite
Continues As Spescom Captures Estimated 15% Share of US Nuclear
Market SAN DIEGO, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spescom Software
Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ALTS) , a leading provider of content and
configuration management solutions, today announced that it was
awarded a contract valued at over $1 million by a leading US power
utility. The contract is for an enterprise license for its eB
Nuclear software suite, which provides an integrated platform for
information management. As a result of the contract, Spescom
estimates that approximately 15% of U.S. nuclear power plants have
adopted the eB Nuclear product suite since its launch in 2002. "The
utility selected eB Nuclear after an intensive competitive
evaluation process because of its extensive document and records
management capabilities as well as configuration management
functionality," said Carl Mostert, Spescom Software's CEO. "This
significant contract win is a further endorsement for our products
and solutions, enhanced by our ability to rapidly implement and
deploy our solutions. We are the first company in the Enterprise
Content Management space that provides the ability to not only
manage content in its various forms but also the 'things' -- or
artifacts that the content relates to. This unique characteristic,
together with our flexible process and change management
capabilities, is allowing us to solve a variety of business
problems in an innovative and effective manner. We are pleased that
our vertical market focus and packaging of our solutions, as
evidenced by our eB Nuclear offering, is proving successful and
will continue to enhance our efforts in this regard." eB Nuclear
enables nuclear operators to manage all the information regarding
its plants throughout their life cycles and comply with regulatory
standards such as the ANSI/NIRMA CM1.0 "Guidelines for the
Configuration Management of Nuclear Plants" and the
DOE-STD-1073-2003 on "Configuration Management". It facilitates
business process fusion by enabling multiple applications and
processes to be addressed in a single integrated environment
resulting in improved information access and integrity, reduced
operational and IT costs and enhanced safety and regulatory
compliance. Based on eB, Spescom's powerful integrated document,
configuration and records management platform, eB Nuclear enables
operators to not only manage all types of documents e.g.
procedures, drawings, vendor manuals, records, etc but also the
systems, structures and components that these documents relate to.
This results in a greatly enhanced ability to manage change as the
impact of any change on both documents and/or equipment can be
accurately determined prior to making the change and all approved
changes can be effectively communicated to all parties and
implemented. About Spescom Software Inc. Spescom Software
