Sarantel GeoHelix GPS Antenna incorporated in personal tracking device

Sarantel Group plc ('Sarantel'), the leading manufacturer of revolutionary
filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, today announces that NEVE
ITS Pty. Ltd. of Adelaide, Australia has launched its new StepLogger personal
tracking device, which uses Sarantel's GeoHelix-S GPS antenna.

The StepLogger is a mobile logging and tracking device that uses GPS to provide
accurate location, FLASH memory to store data, and GSM to transmit data and
events. At the touch of a button an SMS message with the exact location can be
sent to one or more pre-programmed phone numbers.

Sarantel's Geohelix antenna was selected for its high sensitivity in near-body
use, its small size, and ease of integration into the StepLogger. These features
enable the StepLogger to pinpoint location to exacting standards in very
difficult situations.

Chris Wood, Chief Technical Officer of NEVE ITS, said: "The Sarantel GeoHelix
GPS antenna surpassed NEVE's performance and design expectations, allowing us to
meet and exceed customer requirements for a compact, mobile, non-invasive and,
importantly, light-weight personal tracking and logging device. NEVE, when
balancing performance and ease of integration, needed an antenna that provided
excellent close-to-body performance and small PCB footprint; the GeoHelix
antenna gave us that."

David Wither, CEO of Sarantel added: "We're pleased to have been chosen by NEVE
ITS for this project. Developing the StepLogger required some savvy engineering
by the NEVE team, which included an innovative GPS antenna solution. Sarantel's
GeoHelix antenna helped NEVE overcome the challenges of size, sensitivity, and
performance in a multi-radio platform subject to less-than-ideal user
environments."

About Sarantel

Sarantel designs, manufactures and sells patented, ceramic, filtering antennas
for use in portable wireless devices such as PDAs, laptops and 3G mobile
devices. Its current focus is on producing antennas for the GPS market which
allow a clearer signal than conventional antennas whilst reducing the amount of
energy absorbed by the head by approximately 90 per cent. The antennas simplify
system design, thus allowing design standardisation and reduced time to market
and cost for manufacturers.

As well as GPS, Sarantel's antennas are designed to service Wi-Fi, 3G and
Bluetooth platforms which are expected to be a key element in the future success
of mobile network operators and device manufacturers. Sarantel's antennas can
significantly increase the range and effective bandwidth of Wi-Fi devices and
Sarantel is planning to commence high volume delivery of its antennas into the
satellite radio market within the next 12 months.

Sarantel listed on AIM, a market operated by the London Stock Exchange, on 2nd
March 2005 at an issue price of 82p. Sarantel is included in the IT Hardware
sector (93) within the Telecommunications equipment sub-sector (938) and has a
RIC code of SLG.L
