On 11th May 1999, the Board of Thompson Clive Investments plc ('TCI')announced
that Persistence Software Inc. ('Persistence'), an investee company, had filed
a registration document with the US Securities and Exchange Commission
indicating that it intends seeking a listing on NASDAQ.  The Board notes that
Persistence has filed an amendment (S-1/A) to that registration document. 
Included in that amendment is an indication that the expected price range, in
the event of the initial public offering ('IPO') proceeds, is between $9 and
$11 per share.  TCI owns the common stock equivalent of 2,313,855 shares,
which were valued in the latest net asset value released to the Stock Exchange
on 1st June 1999 at $2.68 per share. TCI's holding, following an IPO, would be
subject to trading restrictions.
