plc
("Journeo, "Company"
or "the Group")
£1.5m Passenger Information Systems
purchase order
Journeo plc (AIM: JNEO) a leading
provider of information systems and technical services to transport
operators and authorities, is pleased to announce it has received a
£1.5m purchase order from Swansea Council.
The purchase order is for the
manufacture, installation and maintenance of a range of the latest
Journeo Thin-Film Transistor (TFT), Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
and interactive totem technologies. Approximately 35% of the
displays supplied will be Journeo's low-carbon, solar powered TFT
in-shelter displays, supporting the authority's drive to achieving
Carbon Net Zero by 2050.
Displays will initially be connected
to Swansea Council's existing Content Management System (CMS),
already supplied by Journeo, until the Transport for Wales (TfW)
country-wide Welsh Bus Data Content Management System (WBDCMS) is
launched, and authority systems migrated, later in the
year.
The order also contains a
deliverable of Journeo's innovative 'RTI anywhere' QR code
solution, which will enable passengers to scan QR codes situated at
more than 500 bus stops with their personal mobile devices, and
receive the latest information on departures for the location in
visual and audible formats.
The revenues are included in management's
expectations of performance for the current financial year and add
to the Company's strong order book, providing further future
revenue visibility.
Russ Singleton, Chief Executive of
Journeo plc, commented,
"We are delighted to see the
continued evolution of passenger information estates within Wales,
especially Swansea's commitment to delivering information to
passengers using low-carbon and no-carbon solutions such as our QR
code system.
The investment in technology now
will ensure that Swansea have a display estate compatible with both
their current system and the latest industry open standards, ready
for the migration to the WBDCMS that we will delivering for TfW
over the course of the year."
