               BETA GLOBAL EMERGING MARKETS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC 
                       (IN MEMBERS' VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION)

The Joint Liquidators of Beta Global Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc are
pleased to announce that the second distribution to shareholders in the
liquidation will be 22p per Ordinary Share.  The cheques will be issued to
shareholders within the next two weeks.

The Joint Liquidators have posted their report to shareholders today.
