The Fund seeks to provide shareholders with as high a level of current income exempt from federal income taxes as is consistent with its investment policies and prudent investment management by investing primarily in a portfolio of longterm highgrade municipal obligations the interest on which is exempt from federal income taxes in the opinion of bond counsel to the issuer. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing at least 80% of its assets in municipal bonds exempt from U.S federal income taxes (except that the interest may be subject to the U.S. federal alternative minimum tax). The Fund invests in municipal bonds which are in the three highest quality rating categories (A or better), or which are deemed to be of comparable quality by the adviser, at the time of investment.
