What happened

Shares of Genius Brands (GNUS -4.97%) rocketed 23.7% this week compared to where they closed last Friday, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Investors didn't care so much that the children's entertainment outfit reported earnings that showed a 35% increase in sales (though the stock did go up almost 10% on the news). Rather it was the announcement that Genius Brands signed a 20-year deal with Disney's (DIS -0.70%) Marvel Studios to license the name and likeness of comic book legend Stan Lee for use in films and television, as well as to use in Disney theme parks globally, that sent shares soaring.

Sold this a few years ago for a profit. No regrets the BO price will likely be lower than my sale price.

Dwindling cash and sales last I heard. I owned this at a much higher price 3-4 years ago when they sold a division making the price at that time all cash.

Sold as soon as realized the sales team all left for competitors.

What is going on now to make me reconsider?

Because of the triangle of FTK, I have been adding during this past week. If this triangle acts like others similar to it, it should at least go to the highest point or even higher. Only time will tell. JMO

The individual's previous posts are pretty much worthless. (If there were a deal being negotiated, FTK would be trading at twice its current price). I wish there was a deal being negotiated but management stated they don't want to sell the company before fixing the cost structure, letting the new sales force get up to speed, etc. (assuming selling the company was something they were contemplating)
