The Cooper Companies Announces Expanded Share Repurchase Program

The Cooper Companies, Inc. (NYSE:COO) today announced its Board of Directors has approved a $500 million increase in the company’s share repurchase program. The share repurchase program now totals $1 billion and has approximately $618.5 million of remaining availability with no expiration date.

COO Cooper Reports Higher-than-Expected Q2 Profit, Revenue; Shares Advance

Cooper (COO) advanced in extended trading after the medical device company reported higher-than-expected profit and revenue in its fiscal second quarter.
Shares of the Pleasanton, California-based company gained as much as 1.6% after adding 1% to $167.32 at the close of regular trading on Thursday. The stock is up 25% so far this year.
GAAP net income attributable to Cooper stockholders rose to $74.1 million, or $1.52 per share, for the three months ended April 30, from $60.7 million, or $0.29 per diluted share, for the year-earlier period.
Non-GAAP EPS was $2.05, surpassing the $1.92 average estimate of 14 analysts polled by Capital IQ.
Q2 revenue increased 11% year-over-year to $483.8 million, topping the Wall Street consensus of $464 million.
Looking ahead, the company anticipates non-GAAP EPS for the full year to be in the range of $8.20 and $8.50 per share on revenue in the range of $1.92 billion and $1.96 billion. Analysts are looking for EPS of $8.29 on revenue of $1.90 billion.
