Michael Dell intends to seek majority control of Dell Inc.
(DELL) in the company's expected buyout, Bloomberg News reported
Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
According to previous media reports, Silver Lake Partners and
Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) are expected to invest in a deal that would
value the company at $22 billion or more.
The Bloomberg report said Mr. Dell may provide equity financing
of $500 million to $1 billion from his personal funds. The report
said Mr. Dell's existing Dell stake is worth about $3.6 billion at
Tuesday's close.
According to the report, Silver Lake and Microsoft are expected
to invest $1 billion to $2 billion each.
