Dresdner RCM Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC (the "Company")

Result of Extraordinary General Meeting

At the Second Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today, 30th
April 2002, the resolutions put to the meeting were duly approved by
Shareholders. Accordingly, the Scheme of Reconstruction approved by Shareholders
and Warrantholders on 22nd April 2002 has become unconditional. The Company has
been placed in members' voluntary liquidation and Messrs. R.V.Y. Setchim and
I.C.O. Smith have been appointed liquidators to the Company.

Shareholders who elected (or are deemed to have elected) for the Cash Option
will receive one Cashco Share for each Share held by them. An extraordinary
general meeting of Cashco has been convened for 10.30 am on 2nd May 2002 at
which a resolution will be proposed to put Cashco in liquidation.

Shareholders who have elected (or are deemed to have elected) to receive
Dresdner Emerging Markets Fund Shares will receive Class A (sterling) Emerging
Markets Fund Shares. Shareholders who have elected for Dresdner RCM Tiger Trust
Units will receive Tiger Trust Units. Emerging Markets Fund Shares and Tiger
Trust Units will be created on 2nd May 2002.

A further announcement will be made on 2nd May 2002 of the result of the
extraordinary general meeting of Cashco and respective entitlements under the
Scheme of Shareholders who have elected for (or are deemed to have elected for)
the Cashco Option, the Emerging Markets Fund and the Tiger Trust and of
Warrantholders.

With effect from the close of business on 30th April 2002, D.P. Thomson,
J.S.Flemming and K.A.V. Mackrell have resigned as directors of the Company.
