Notes :
1 Auditors' Report on the audited accounts for the year 1999-2000 included
reference to some unbilled fuel surcharge dues and unprovided claims of West
Bengal State Electricity Board for delayed payment surcharge and certain other
charges. The Company has followed the same basis of accounting in respect of
these matters while preparing the above unaudited financial results.

2 The above results may undergo some changes on the basis of any future award by
the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission on the Company's proposal for
revising its 2001-02 tariff.
