ZURICH -- SGS S.A. (SGSN.VX) Monday said it has acquired Grupo Labmat, a leading Brazil-based provider of materials testing, welding and engineering services as well as metallurgy project inspections for an undisclosed sum.

MAIN FACTS:

- The Group serves many markets and acts a technical support partner in particular for the infrastructure, foundry and automotive parts sectors.

- Grupo Labmat operates two state of the art laboratories in Piracicaba and Guarulhos and employs 120 experts.

- Privately owned, it generated 2012 revenue in excess of BRL12 million.
