Environmental Solutions Worldwide, Inc. (OTCBB: ESWW) (Frankfurt Stock Exchange FWB: EOW) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary ESW Canada, Inc. received notification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) that the company’s ThermaCat™ Active Level III Plus catalyst system verification has been expanded to cover applications from the original 1996-2006 year models to 1996-2010.

With the expansion of the CARB Executive Order (EO) DE-09-010-02, the ThermaCat™ can now be utilized on Off-Road engines from 100 to 375 horse power, representing a 17% increase of applicable engine families from 1133 to 1325. Approximately 14,000 engine configurations now fall under the guidelines and can be retrofitted with the ThermaCat™. http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/level3/level3.htm

The ThermaCat™ now meets current and future retrofit installation requirements for an even wider variety of Off-Road equipment. This broad cross section now includes backhoes, mini-excavators, bobcats and boom-lifts that can now take advantage of the benefits of this flexible solution.

As with the On-Road ThermaCat™ CARB EO expansion granted to the Company in September of 2010, the new Off-Road expansion sets a precedent for additional customer benefits. A “Swapping Allowance,” provides for an alternate filter to be used in place of one being cleaned—during a scheduled maintenance procedure for the ThermaCat™—helping to maximize the equipment availability. In addition, a “Redistribution Allowance” gives customers the ability to move a system from a piece of equipment being removed from service to one being brought into service, saving money for the customer and minimizing operational disruptions.

The ThermaCat™ is a proprietary diesel engine emissions reduction retrofit technology which proved capable of reducing diesel Particulate Matter (PM), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydro Carbon (HC) in excess of 85% while meeting the nationwide stringent Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) limitations. This new NO2 limit, which came into effect on January 1, 2009, requires that all CARB verified diesel emission retrofit technologies sold and installed in North America must not increase NO2 emissions by more than 20%.

David J. Johnson, ESW’s President and CEO stated, “The quality of our ThermaCat™ technology and the flexibility of our solutions continue to be recognized and verified by CARB under their exacting standards. We believe this new expanded Off-Road EO verification broadens our markets, strengthens our dealer/distributor network, and further solidifies ESW’s position in the diesel emissions retrofit sector of the industry.”
