PR Newswire (US)
EAGAN, Minn., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Intercim, Inc. announced that
it has signed a CAA (Component Applications Architecture)
partnership agreement with Dassault Systemes, a world leader in 3D
and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions. The agreement was
completed in June and announced at the Delmia User Conference,
October 10-12 in Dearborn, Mich. "Joining together Delmia
Model-Based Planning with the Velocity(TM) Process Execution System
truly completes the PLM loop," says Paul Meyer, Intercim Vice
President of Engineering. "Adopters of this technology will be able
to fully leverage the benefits of Dassault Systemes 3D
collaboration from concept design through product delivery." The
Intercim-Delmia relationship developed while working new aerospace
programs that required both advanced technologies and aggressive
timetables. As part of the partnership agreement Intercim, using
CAA V5 technology, is developing an execution hub -- an extension
of the Enovia engineering data hub and Delmia's Parts, Process and
Resource planning hub. Intercim's 'Execution Workbench' is based on
CAA Services Oriented Architecture for lightweight delivery of
model-based planning with embedded execution capability. Users will
be able to view and interact with the 3D model to status work,
collect data, record genealogy and report anomalies while in the 3D
environment. The product is designed to be an engaging interactive
experience that conveys information in an intuitive manner to
minimize the possibility of errors and maximize the touch-time of
users in the production line. "Today's competitive market demands a
more interactive and collaborative solution to connect
manufacturing planning to execution on the factory floor," said
Robert Barlow, VP Channel Development, DELMIA. "This partnership
with Intercim offers a configurable PLM and MES integration
solution to discrete manufacturers thereby reducing the cost of
ownership in extending PLM technologies from engineering planning
all the way to operations on the shop floor. The ability to deliver
interactive, 3D model based work instructions to factory workers
creates a more effective and collaborative environment that results
in an unprecedented user experience and enhanced productivity."
About Intercim As a leader in the development and application of
process execution systems, Intercim has an extensive track record
of helping discrete manufacturers improve their bottom line. With
nearly 25 years experience in process engineering, software
development and Aerospace and Defense manufacturing, the company is
