MONTREAL, Dec. 20, 2018 /CNW/ - Accenture (NYSE: ACN)
has been chosen by Bombardier (BBD-B.TO) to help it further
streamline procurement processes and reduce costs associated with
the purchase of a wide range of indirect goods and services around
the world. The objective of the initiative is to generate millions
of dollars in sustainable savings over the next five years.
Accenture will use its source-to-pay and operations-as-a-service
capabilities to help Bombardier implement more intelligent and
efficient purchasing of indirect goods and services – those
supporting the company's internal operations, as opposed to goods
and services used in the manufacturing and production of its
products. Accenture's end-to-end, globally integrated capabilities
will help Bombardier enhance its automation opportunities, increase
operating efficiencies, mitigate risks, reduce duplicative
processing and improve corporate compliance.
"With the support of Accenture, Bombardier will manage its
indirect spend more efficiently and generate substantial cost
savings that will accelerate its turnaround plan," said
Sam Abdelmalek, Bombardier's Chief
Transformation and Supply Chain Officer. "This initiative will
infuse innovation, automation and leading practices into the
business to complement our current capabilities. We are pleased to
work with Accenture as we jointly drive for world-class
performance."
"Accenture is helping Bombardier achieve its business targets
and unleash value as it continues to make progress in its
transformation," said Jeffrey
Russell, president of Accenture in Canada. "We are very proud to be part of this
end-to-end procurement transformation program with Bombardier, a
leading global company with large and diversified service
procurement requirements."
