Company (NYSE:VMC) today announced that its Dolcito Quarry in
Tarrant, Alabama, is the only facility nationwide to receive a
Three-Star Award, the highest possible recognition in the National
Stone, Sand and Gravel Association's (NSSGA) Stars of Excellence
Awards program. The Stars of Excellence program began in 2001 as a
way to recognize facilities that received multiple, highest-level
safety, community relations and environmental awards from NSSGA
over a five year period. Dolcito's three stars acknowledge receipt
of two community relations excellence awards and an environmental
excellence award. The Dolcito Quarry is part of Vulcan's Southern
& Gulf Coast Division, which has its headquarters in
Birmingham. Southern and Gulf Coast Division President, Mike
