For those interested, CNBC spent 20 minuted glorifying UMG and pointing out how the stock is up 40% since IPO.

I checked into it.
The stock is down on the 1st day of trading.
And it is down almost 10% since IPO on Sept 21, 2021
CNBC is playing the old game of pretending that what a stock is priced at is what it opens at for the public to buy.

I ended up taking a loss. Might regret it but I'm not in the position to sit and wait, made up my losses here in a couple days moving the money. May just back in if it drops below 15s

Any thoughts. I don't know what to do on my position. Feeling so let down though.

SUMMARY
All told, this is a pretty innovative move on Ackman’s part. He somehow Harry Pottered PSTH by taking the one SPAC vehicle and created three new entities. It’s financial magic!

The only problem is, retail has invested heavily in PSTH and this is a very complicated transaction. If they can’t wrap their heads around it, you can be sure they’re going to hate it. But…since this “deal”, and I use that term loosely since it’s not a merger, will not happen until the third quarter, there is plenty of time for PSTH to market this transaction and make it understandable.

Well, now we know what is happening.

Summary:
1) PSTH has been working since early November 20220 on one big target.
2) They now want to conclude the deal in the next week or two or move on.
3) It is a big name that everybody will recognize.
4) The company will have good growth for years ahead.
5) IMHO, Ackman chose to tell the WSJ this because it is a polite way of telling the target company that the time is up. We have spent 6 months on this and you need to agree or we are going to terminate the whole process and move on to another company.

Very exciting. 50-50 chance of something very big in the very near term.
I have been waiting a long time and was almost ready to give up.
We will know soon.

Yes I had all these thoughts too, but looking back..that’s the worst DD I’ve ever had on a stock. “Ackman would never let this fail” is such a bad reason to buy a stock. I got too emotional. Lesson learned...let’s see what he does, but remember it takes 2 to tango. Finding a “unicorn” and then getting a good deal isn’t easy. At this point, I feel like he doesn’t have a partner, just discussions with a bunch. Hope I’m wrong
