Interestingly, 51% of trading volume is now zero day options. Throw in naked shorting, hedge funds and dark pools not to mention brokerage algo bots and I think your Richard Dennis quote is heading from hope toward despair for FA dominance. Long horizon still has some merit if one wishes to ride the ups and downs. This seems to be becoming the age of riding sprinters. Shorter term swing trades and trading around a core position seems to be becoming the edge for the little guy to add slices of the market pie consistently rather than just holding. Looking to add reduced price or free shares from trading JOBY is my plan. Without Tech and AI this market would be in big trouble. The market would look far different if one took out or reduced the impact of 10-15 super stocks.
Factoring in the uncertainty in the US economy, world supply chains, debt, war etc etc and this old guy just focuses on adding pieces to what I already have, minimizing risk as much as possible and not expecting much long term. I still think FA is important, however the key to maximizing FA in my situation IMO is moving more and more to TA.
I think those in the last few generations have no idea how close to the cliffs edge things are.
PS: I consider myself a realist and try to make decisions accordingly, rather than a doom and gloomer. There are always survivors and pathways in every historical age. Sure not going to quit trading when there are still so many opportunities available.
JOBY. Yes it is showing weakness. I am watching the BB tighten. The bottom band could offer some needed support. Price will not go up until closings with confirmations turn the pink 4ema upward. Positive stacking to the 3 ema's would create a potential for new upward momentum. Price confirming above 8.36, though potentially difficult without news, would create a very positive outlook. First have to see how the week closes and Feb 15 reports.
Green Trades.

I just posted this at ACHR and it is relevent here as well:
So, I made a mistake. I bought a few shares, not much, and made a few bucks and sold. I forgot I had a buy order in at a lower price that I forgot to cancel and it executed. Dang. And now I am in it and losing a few bucks as I write this.
I am a private pilot and love the aviation world. I have known a couple of people in the aviation business and one time, when I was considering doing a small business venture with someone, I got the best advice from someone about it. He told me this: “If you want to make a small fortune in aviation, start with a large one!”
I believe these air taxi’s have limited income potential. John Doe’s will never be able to afford them and there are only so many millionaires out there that will. They will be a novelty for some time but eventually, they will be for the rich. And that market will be limited. Just like private air travel. I used to own a single engine plane and that field of aviation is dying because of cost. All of my pilot friend have almost, but not quite, quit flying. Why? Because a flight in their lanes cost at least 5x’s more than commercial. Not kidding. Fuel, insurance, maintenance. Yes, it is more fun and convenient. But. The money is ridiculous.
So, I will wait it out and when Archer and Joby get some good FAA news, I think we shall see a significant rise from where we are right now, and then I think many people will get out.
Maybe just venting at my stupidity, but these are my thoughts.

Anyone watching (or invested in) both $JOBY and A*HR should be able to tell that A*HR controls this sector. $JOBY just follows it up and down like it's subservient. It's annoying!!! Need some news on progress of final phase of FAA cert, Japan, Delta, South Korea, and/or Dubai taxi hub. Better sooner than later with Boeing and others sniffing around!!! First to market is key!
Doesn't help the case that insiders keep selling more shares than they actually bought, while A*HR's insiders bought about 6X than they sold.

Sector took another hit today. I wonder if and/or how news like this effects the overall sentiment.

This eVTOL Startup Has Filed for Bankruptcy
The promised air taxi future appears to be slowly giving way to a robotaxi reality, but some investors remain confident.
By Jay RameyPublished: Jan 02, 2025 10:56 AM EST
Germany's Volocopter has entered insolvency proceedings in its home country after a number of successful prototype demos in recent months.
The startup's craft uses a large number of individual propellers arranged around an overhead ring structure, as in a hobby drone, while featuring a small helicopter-style cabin.
Air taxis in development are now thought to see a serious challenge from robotaxis, as driverless car tech spreads and becomes more affordable to scale.
As the eVTOL industry approaches a moment of truth, and a growing robotaxi market, those that have made it this far are now facing a difficult transition period.
Days after German eVTOL startup Lilium was able to find new investors to save itself at the last minute, another German eVTOL startup, Volocopter, has filed for insolvency proceedings.
"With one of the lowest burn rates in the industry, Volocopter has successfully operated in an extremely difficult financial environment," the company said in a statement. "However, despite recent intensive fundraising efforts, finding a viable solution to maintain regular operations outside of insolvency proceedings has not been possible." ...

South Korea getting in now!
Gov't to conduct flight demonstration of commercial-level air taxi model this week
Story by Chang Dong-woo • 54m • 1 min read
SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Yonhap) -- The transport ministry said Friday it will conduct a flight demonstration of a commercial-level air taxi model this week as part of a government project to introduce the urban air mobility (UAM) industry in the country.
The ministry will demonstrate the operation of the S-4 model built by U.S. electric aircraft manufacturer Joby Aviation Inc. at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute's aviation center in Goheung, about 330 kilometers south of Seoul, on Saturday.
The demonstration is part of the K-UAM Grand Challenge, a government-led demonstration program that will test UAM vehicle safety and traffic management capabilities for commercial services.
The deployment of the S-4, capable of carrying a pilot and up to four passengers, will mark the first use of a commercial-level UAM aircraft in the country.
The demonstration will include testing with UAM operational technologies, such as those involving flight management and air traffic, developed by a consortium formed by SK Telecom Co., Korea Airports Corp. and Hanwha Systems Co.
