  UBC Media Group reports improved RAJAR figures for Classic Gold Digital and
                                 Oneword Radio





UBC Media Group reports that listening to Classic Gold Digital has risen in the
latest RAJAR report (Quarter 1, 2003), with total listening hours up by 70,000
to 8.8 million and an increased market share of 3.1% from 3%.



Classic Gold Digital broadcasts on 18 AM stations, plus a network of digital
multiplexes, which gives the format a potential audience of 29 million people.
GWR Group is responsible for advertising sales and Classic Gold Digital receives
a payment for its programming from GWR, directly related to the number of
listening hours as measured by RAJAR.  At present, RAJAR measures only listening
to Classic Gold in its core analogue areas, digital listening will begin to be
measured by RAJAR in Q4 this year.



Oneword Radio, the only national commercial digital station dedicated to the
spoken word, reported a significant increase in listening, with total listening
hours more than doubling to 289,000 and reach up by 22% to 61,000.



UBC Media Group has a 50% shareholding in Oneword Radio, which is broadcast on
the national digital multiplex, Digital One, and across several digital
television platforms, including Sky and Freeview.



Commenting on the RAJAR numbers, Simon Cole, Chief Executive of UBC Media Group,
said, "Against a background where all competitors are losing market share, the
continued success of Classic Gold is very encouraging. It demonstrates the
benefits of our investment in programming, especially the new Tony Blackburn
breakfast show.   While Oneword's audience is still small, as one would expect
for a start-up digital-only station, the rate of growth reflects both the rapid
consumer take-up of digital radio and the fact that these new listeners are
being attracted to new formats".
