Cipla Ltd. (500087.BY) said Tuesday it has secured tentative approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, used to treat HIV.

It has received tentative approval to sell the drug in tablet form in dosages of 300 milligram under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief program, the Indian drugmaker said in a note to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets are the generic version of Gilead Sciences Inc.'s (GILD) truvada.
