                        ("Southern Bear" or the "Group") 
                                Trading Statement 
The Board of Southern Bear plc wishes to announce that the Group's sales and 
profits will be significantly below market expectations for the year ended 31 
March 2010. 
The shortfall in sales and profits is mainly attributable to the following: 
·     The postponement of sales orders from customers of the Group has meant 
that significant revenues and profits will now be deferred to the year ended 31 
March 2011; 
·     The continuing adverse weather conditions during the winter period has 
meant that several orders will not be fulfilled prior to 31 March 2010; 
·     Poor trading results and exceptional costs associated with the disposal of 
several of the Group's subsidiaries (as announced on 23 February 2010).

The Board considers that the financial position of the Group remains sound and 
that it is well prepared for the challenges and significant opportunities that 
lie ahead.
