1997/98 Year End Results

I am writing to inform you that the Directors of Oxford Instruments plc will
be meeting on 2 June 1998 to receive the accounts for the year to 31 March
1998, and to recommend the final dividend.  The dividend will be payable on 1
October 1998 to members on the register at the close of business on 28 August
1998 (the record date) subject only to the approval of shareholders at the
Annual General Meeting on 30 July 1998.

The preliminary announcement of the Group's results for the year to 31 March
1998 will be released to the Stock Exchange on 2 June 1998.
