                     Property sale completed - Abingdon, UK

Oxford Instruments plc, the high technology tools and systems company, is
pleased to announce that it has completed the sale of its vacant property at
Abingdon, UK. The property had become surplus to operating requirements
following an earlier restructuring of its Analytical Businesses.


At 31 March 2007 the property was held as an asset for sale with a carrying
value of #5.0m. The net proceeds of the sale are #5.3m.
