Oxford Nutrascience Group PLC (ONG.LN), a consumer healthcare company, said Tuesday it has been granted a 20 year U.K. patent, from Aug. 7, for its chewy confectionery composition technology.

MAIN FACTS:

-Patent covers the company's technology which allows sugars to be replaced with fibers and for the product to be fortified with vitamins and other nutraceutical ingredients.

-Granting of the European patent is expected in due course.

-Chewyz will initially be launched in Tesco Nutri Centre stores.

-Shares on Monday closed at 2.00 pence.
