The Board of Creston Land & Estates plc announces that on 22 January 1998 the
company purchased #75,000 nominal of the companys 6% convertible unsecured
loan stock at a cost of #54,375 before dealing expenses. Following this
transaction #2,425,000 nominal of the 6% convertible unsecured loan stock
remain in issue.

The #75,000 nominal 6% convertible unsecured loan stock acquired will be
cancelled.
