 AGM STATEMENT 
 
 
At the Annual General Meeting of Chapelthorpe plc today the Chairman, Leslie 
Goodman, commented: 
 
 
"Our trading performance in the first quarter has been satisfactory and in line 
with our expectations. Increased demand for filament yarn in the US has helped 
offset sluggish demand from the automotive sector. Volumes in Europe reflect 
falling consumer demand but this has been compensated by better mix and margins. 
 
 
 
We are pleased to report that the Group is continuing to show considerable 
resilience in challenging trading conditions."
