                "CHEMRING SELLS TWO NON-CORE BUSINESSES"

Chemring Group PLC ("Chemring") announces the sale of two businesses,
Hutchwilco Limited and Octavius Hunt Limited.  These sales are part of
Chemring's ongoing strategy of disposing of its non-core businesses.

HUTCHWILCO LIMITED
The New Zealand company, Hutchwilco Limited, has been sold to Step One
Limited, a local company, for a cash consideration of approximately #230,000.

OCTAVIUS HUNT LIMITED
The specialist smokes pesticide company, based in Bristol, Octavius Hunt
Limited, has been sold to a newly-formed company, Reynolds Holdings (Bristol)
Limited, owned by the Managing Director Jan Reynolds, for a cash consideration
of #450,000.

Taking account of provisions already made for disposals, there will not be a
material impact on the Group accounts.
