                 APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE
 
Chemring Group PLC announces, today (Tuesday 15 July) the
appointment of Mr Peter Molony as Group Chief Executive with
immediate effect.
 
Mr Molony, 59, has held the posts of Vice President - Finance
of Sea Containers Inc, Director of Finance and Corporate
Planning at the Post Office, Finance Director of Scottish &
Newcastle Plc and Finance Director of Rolls-Royce Plc.  Over
the last 10 years he has worked in a number of consulting and
turnaround roles.
 
Commenting on the appointment, Ken Scobie, Chairman of
Chemring Group PLC, said; "Peter brings the right balance of
corporate and financial experience the Group needs in this re-
building and growth phase.  His experience when he was the
director responsible for Rolls-Royce's military business
worldwide will be very valuable."
