                               MOBILE DATA DRIVE

Released: 19 February 2002

mmO2 today announced that it has signed agreements with six leading IT companies
to help market and distribute a new range of mobile data services for corporate
customers based on Microsoft wireless software and high-speed GPRS mobile data
networks.

It follows a recent agreement between mmO2 and Microsoft to collaborate on 'next
generation' mobile data services and is a significant step in the creation of a
strong reseller channel across mmO2's mobile businesses in Europe. Today's
announcement also compliments mmO2's growing portfolio of new mobile data
devices, including the forthcoming O2 xda - a Pocket PC with integrated mobile
phone and data application capabilities.

BT Ignite, Compaq, Computacenter, Hewlett Packard, Unisys and winlinx will be
the first O2 partners to offer packaged services to enterprise customers based
on their support and systems integration skills combined with mmO2's mobile data
expertise and market-leading wireless software from Microsoft. Customers will
benefit from one point of contact for their mobile communications needs,
including e-mail, contacts and calendar information as well as full-colour
Internet access on the move.

Central to the offering will be Microsoft's Mobile Information Server Enterprise
and Carrier Editions, providing secure wireless access to corporate intranets
and Microsoft Exchange data. This will be packaged with a range of mobile data
devices.

The IT partners will sell packaged services comprising GPRS data and voice
subscription contracts and new mobile data devices aimed at customers with
critical information needs. The deal should also enhance the ability of IT
companies to provide customers with a full life cycle solution including the
provision of additional mobile services, risk management, licence fulfilment,
pre-configured systems, system integration, device provisioning, consulting,
project management, training and support.

Kent Thexton, chief marketing and data officer mmO2, said: "These companies
bring to market ready-made solutions, which compliments our growing mobile data
portfolio. Our mutual goals are to meet the needs of those who have to
communicate on the move, allowing them to be reachable and remain connected to
vital information at all times."
