                   Result of the cash placing (the "Placing")

AssetCo plc ("AssetCo" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the successful 
completion of the Placing announced earlier today. A total of 3,359,932 new
ordinary  shares of 25 pence each (the "Placing Shares") have been placed, by
Hoare Govett  Limited ("Hoare Govett") and Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander
Capital Markets Limited  ("Kaupthing"), with institutional investors at a price
of 188 pence per share,  raising approximately �6.3 million before commissions
and expenses.  The Placing  Shares represent in aggregate approximately 5% of
the current issued share capital  of the Company.

The Placing Shares will be issued credited as fully paid and will rank pari
passu  in all respects with AssetCo's existing ordinary shares of 25 pence each,
including  the right to receive all dividends and other distributions declared,
made or paid  after the date of issue.

The Placing is conditional on, inter alia, admission of the Placing Shares to
trading  on the AIM market ("AIM") of the London Stock Exchange plc
("Admission") becoming  effective by not later than 8.00 a.m. on 12 February
2008.

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange plc for Admission.  It is
expected that settlement will occur, Admission will become effective, and that 
dealings in the Placing Shares will commence, on 12 February 2008.
