Energy and Technology Corp.’s (OTC BB: ENGT.OB) subsidiary Technical Industries, Inc. announced today the development and current installation of a revolutionary new inspection wall mapping imaging system. The new system vastly improves material handling speed and safety, and can handle larger OD pipe up to 30”. Increased sensors and automation allow for reduced inspection times, up to half for some applications, and include an automatic anomaly marking system. The new system is expected to greatly reduce production times, increase overall efficiency and accuracy, and includes:

VisonArrayTM wall mapping patented methods and technology can help energy companies use present pipe and equipment in order to reach deep energy reserves that present technology does not allow and much more. Use of OCTG, drillpipe and landing strings at deeper depths is limited by current API strength specifications which were written many years ago and no longer can be used. The industry discovered that there is “unread” strength remaining in these materials when using these specifications. Therefore, Technical Industries, Inc. research engineers worked hard and the company invested large amounts of capital to develop the latest technology available in order to show an accurate image of the pipe. This allows engineers to enter the proper equations and algorithms to accurately determine actual pipe strength and utilize existing equipment to drill deeper.

Patent Abstract No.: US 7,401,518 B2 & Chinese No. ZL 2004 8 0012199.4

“A method for inspection of tubular goods includes using ultrasonic detection means to obtain wall thickness measurement of discrete sections of a tubular good and recording each measurement in association with both the longitudinal and circumferential position at which each measurement was obtained. Accordingly each measurement of wall thickness represents a small portion of the wall thickness of said tubular in three-dimensional space. A plurality of said measurements may thereby be displayed by computer means in virtual three-dimensional format. Differing wall thickness readings may be represented by different shading or color display, so that anomalies of interest may be readily detected. Alternatively the recorded information may be readily processed by computer means to calculate the effect of stressors on the wall of said tubular good.”
