CalciTech Secures 2.5 MT of Inventory for German Phase II Plant TSX-V:CLK OTCBB: CLKTF Freiverkehr: XCH HAMILTON, Bermuda, May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CalciTech Ltd. (TSX-V: CLK; OTCBB: CLKTF; Freiverkehr: XCH) CalciTech today announced it has come to an agreement with the MDSE in Germany for the exclusive access to a further 2.5 MT of carbide lime waste at Schkopau, near Leuna. Carbide lime is a raw material for CalciTech's Synthetic Calcium Carbonate "SCC" manufacturing process. SCC is a high quality, premium valued pigment/coating material particularly for the paper industry. The pond is adjacent to one already in the company's portfolio that will feed its first 40ktpa planned merchant plant. Marc Janssens, COO of CalciTech, stated, "We are delighted with obtaining these rights. The new pond will feed our Phase II upgrade of operations with a 100ktpa plant at the site. Obtaining rights to industrial lime for exploitation is very much part of our strategy to continuously add value to our reserve picture. Although carbide lime is an industrial waste product, to us it is a very valuable resource. Securing rights over these ponds builds inventory for the lifetime of a project, at negligible cost." He continued, "The interest from the paper industry is such that, with the first planned facility nearly fully subscribed, we expect Letters of Intent "LoI" for phase II of our rollout programme starting to be submitted shortly. CalciTech has developed a new and patented process that converts industrial lime waste with carbon dioxide gas into a high quality material for the paper industry. The company's strategy is aimed at market entry into the high-end of the paper industry, where growth rates and prices are high. The company is currently operating a small-scale production plant, which turns out samples for trial runs by commercial paper producers. Industry interest has been so high that the production capacity of the facility had to be upgraded substantially in order to cope with demand. On the back of highly successful trials, CalciTech has received LoI's from seriously committed paper producers. LoIs to date cover 80% of the production capacity of the company's planned first full-scale facility. DATASOURCE: CALCITECH LTD.
