Chief Executive Officer of AsiaBaseMetals Inc. Resigns; Interim CEO Appointed

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2014) - AsiaBaseMetals Inc. ("AsiaBaseMetals" or the "Company") (TSX-VENTURE:ABZ) announces that Mr. Raj Chowdhry, a founding Director of the Company, has tendered his resignation as Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of the Company, effective immediately. Mr. Chowdhry remains a director of the Company.

Mr. Steven Khan has been appointed as the Company's Interim Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Khan has over twenty years of experience and has served as senior management in all aspects of the investment industry, including retail, institutional sales, corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking. For the past 10 years, he has focused on financing and corporate development activities for numerous private and public companies with Sona Capital Limited, his private company. He has served as Chairman, CEO, and President, as well as in Audit, Compensation and Nominating Committee roles. Mr. Khan, a graduate of the University of British Columbia (B.Sc. - 1978 & MBA - 1983), is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
