DETROIT, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy is offering its residential customers a new way to learn how to save money by making their homes more energy efficient. The company has launched a new feature on its Web site that shows customers how to use less energy in virtually every room of the house. Available at dteenergy.com/house, the site features an interactive house that provides energy savings tips with just a click of a mouse. Visitors can "tour" the house by selecting the room they're interested in and get no-cost, low-cost and long-term suggestions for improvement. "The house gives customers an engaging way to learn about energy efficiency and offers practical advice on how to reduce your home energy bills," said Trevor Lauer, DTE Energy's vice president of retail marketing. "Many of these tips -- like adjusting your thermostat -- are simple and can be done for little or no cost, but can still have a big impact." In addition to tips, the house also provides links to DTE Energy's Your Energy Savings energy efficiency programs, such as in-home energy audits, discounts on compact fluorescent light bulbs, programmable thermostats and select Energy Star appliances, appliance recycling and much more. The site also will offer links to how-to videos and a printer-friendly checklist of home energy efficiency projects. (A click on the home office, then a click on the printer brings up the list.) "We'll be continually adding new features to the site and will change up the tips each season to offer customers advice appropriate for the time of year, "noted Lauer. "It's definitely a site you'll want to visit - and revisit." DATASOURCE: DTE Energy CONTACT: Eileen Dixon, +1-313-235-9154; or Len Singer, +1-313-235-8809 Web Site: http://www.dteenergy.com/
