SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrating another
year of success, the USANA True Health Foundation (THF) — whose
mission is to provide the most critical human necessities:
nutrition, clothing, shelter, medical assistance and health
education to those who are suffering or in need— announces that it
has donated more than $2.6 million to
those less fortunate or in need during 2016.
This past year, a group of USANA independent distributors joined
THF on a humanitarian trip to Vincente
Guerrero, Baja, Mexico,
where they spent a week serving a poverty-stricken area including
an orphanage and the surrounding community. While there, they
assisted in administering medical aid, provided dental care and
oral hygiene kits, helped with building construction as well as
provided one year of nutritional products for all of the children
at the orphanage.
The Foundation also assisted in relief efforts in Haiti after the devastation from Hurricane
Matthew in October. Through its partnership with International
Relief Teams and the Children's Hunger Fund, THF was able to
provide $80,000 to assist in relief
efforts.
"We are thankful to be celebrating another year where we have
been able to make a positive and sizeable impact to many who are in
need of help throughout the world," said Brian Paul, THF's executive director of
communications. "We look forward to beginning another year where we
will help alleviate suffering in impoverished and disaster-stricken
areas. We are so thankful for our Associates who continue to
generously donate their time and resources to assisting those less
fortunate."

The USANA True Health Foundation was established by USANA — a
global nutritional company based in Salt
Lake City — in 2012 in an effort to provide opportunities
for its independent distributors to give back to people in need all
over the world. All administrative fees are paid by USANA (NYSE:
USNA), which allows the Foundation to donate 100 percent of every
dollar raised to those in need.
Through humanitarian missions, regular contributions,
fundraising projects and collaborations with the Women's Tennis
Association, the nonprofit organization has raised over
$13 million to aid hundreds around
the world. The Foundation has donated over $6.3 million in its children's multivitamin
product — Usanimals — to the Children's Hunger Fund and an
additional $5.7 million has been
donated to feeding children, providing aid in needy areas as well
as disaster relief globally.
