StoneMor receives letter from Axar Capital Management inviting discussions regarding strategic alternatives

StoneMor announced today that its board of directors has received a letter, dated September 22, from Axar Capital Management in which Axar expressed an interest in pursuing discussions concerning strategic alternatives that may be beneficial to the company and its various stakeholders.Axar currently owns approximately 75% of the company's outstanding common stock. Axar has engaged Schulte Roth & Zabel as its legal advisor and stated in the letter that it would engage a financial advisor at the appropriate time. According to the letter, Axar expects that any such discussions would be conducted with a special committee of the Board, assisted by financial and legal advisors it engages.

You would think a cemetery/funeral home chain (1 hour from New York City) would be doing brisk business.

With a quarter million casualties projected and refrigerator trailers showing up outside of hospitals serving as temporary morgues, STON and its competitors are bound to have a good year.

As morbid as it sounds being invested in a company that is the second largest funeral home in America might not be a bad idea during a pandemic. This one looks ok, especially if profits increase substanitally in the next two months and from the looks of it that has a high degree of happening.

My guess is acquisitions for expansion?

STON had it's IPO in 2004 at $20.50 a share. Never once a reverse split. And only issued 40m shares since initial ipo. Yet grew company tremendously since then.IHUB sleeping on this stock for sure. I will be only one here when this is back to $10 a share

.33 cents quarterly and that was back in 2016. They cut it when it was discovered the CEO back then was embezzeling. He really put the screws to this company.

If they reinstitute the divy STON would probably bounce back to the $5-6.00 range

I had owned them years ago for their dividend, in the S-1 Im reading they plan on dropping the MLP for a sub chapter C corp 1st Q 2020. No X date on the $1.20 rights offering. I'll certainly be watching their new management. The last clown CEO royally raped them damn near putting them out of business.

read some of the latest filings they have restructured all of their long term and short term debt without diluting. And just recently cut 3400 jobs saving the company 30 million a year. The float hasnt changed and no insider have sold any significant amount of shares. 1 positive quarter and this stock will rocket. looks like a huge turnaround play. Worth the due diligence on this stock and good luck with whatever you decide!
