Swiss Life Holding AG's (SLHN.VX) Chief Executive Bruno Pfister Tuesday warned that insurers in general will face a difficult 2009 and that because of this the Swiss Life insurer has abstained from making medium and long-term forecasts.

Swiss Life's Pfister, however, said the company aims to post a profit in 2009, saying that the company's new product launches as well as efficiency efforts should help the insurer grow premiums.
